Dan Docherty

Dan Docherty is a world-renowned Tai Chi Chuan master who was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1954. He was known for his expertise in Wudang Tai Chi and his strong views on the history of Tai Chi.

Dan's Tai Chi journey began in Hong Kong where he served as an inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force. During his time there, he trained under Cheng Tin Hung and even represented Hong Kong in full-contact fighting competitions.

After leaving the police force in 1984, Dan became a professional Tai Chi teacher based in London. He has taught thousands of students all over the world and was considered a leading figure in the world of Tai Chi.

Dan sadly passed away in 2021 after fighting Parkinson's disease for many years.
